Athletes: Born or Made?

After watching the four-game sweep of the NBA Finals by the Golden State Warriors and the incredible athleticism in the World Cup, I find myself asking, “What does it take to become an extreme or professional athlete?” The question of whether athletes are born or made has been around as long as people have been competing. Is it genes inherited from parents, work ethic and dedication, or amount of practice? The trouble is, this question is so hard to answer due to all the different factors in someone’s life. 

There are genes however that can influence what sports your body will naturally be better at.
